Created in partnership with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in 2004, the Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy program is designed to provide math and science teachers with supplemental teaching techniques through real-life astronaut training and innovative educational tools.
The inaugural class of teachers from around the United States grew year by year, and has trained more than 1500 teachers from the United States and around the world. A series of maps, started in 2005, traced the evolution of the program by showing the locations of the participants.

Later versions of maps have additional code to allow them to be used a teaching tool for exploring the Earth and our Solar System.
